Azerbaijan is the initiator and participant of many large-scale projects, which turns it into a key country in the region. At the same time, the participation of Georgia and Turkey in the implementation of projects, such as the Southern Gas Corridor, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, and the participation of Iran in an equally important global project, “North-South”, strengthens trade and economic cooperation between these countries.
“We can already predict today that if it is possible to establish mutually beneficial, constructive regional cooperation and synchronize the national economies of our countries and adjust them to the format that is considered a priority in the world economy, it is highly likely that we can anticipate that both the entire regional economy and the Azerbaijani economy will receive serious dividends from these processes,” Professor of UNEC, economist Elshad Mammadov said.
Azerbaijan encourages the strengthening of close regional cooperation and friendly atmosphere, the promotion of peace, stability and security. Due to the multilateral, balanced and independent foreign policy, Azerbaijan acts as a center for regional cooperation.
“Azerbaijan pursues a path of friendship. There are cataclysms, enmity, international terrorism in the world and Azerbaijan avoids all this. It generates ideas not only for itself, but also for its neighbors. Firstly, the internal business climate in Azerbaijan is favorable. There are big companies that operate here. We are on friendly terms with those who are working for progress and we are at odds with those who strives for conflicts and calls for the armament. This is a normal articulation of the state policy of Azerbaijan,” Head of Baku Network Expert Council Elkhan Alasgarov said.
Bilateral relations between Baku with Ankara, Tbilisi and Tehran can serve as an example for other countries. Now, the quadrilateral cooperation format will pave the way for using the mutually beneficial development potential for the entire region.
