The Turkish runner of Azerbaijani origin Ramil Guliyev has won the men's 200m race at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany.

Ahead of rivals from Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland and Holland with a result of 19.76 seconds, the athlete won gold. Setting a new record for European championships, the athlete also updated his own best achievement and the record of Turkey. Note that in 2017 Guliyev became world champion in London in the race at a distance of 200 meters, bringing Turkey the first in its history gold medal at the championships of this level, and thus was the second "white" sprinter, ran a distance of 100 meters less than for 10 seconds. Guliyev celebrated his victory under the flags of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
